Phillips will offer a ruby and diamond bracelet at its upcoming jewelry auction in Hong Kong, where it is set to fetch up to HKD 6.7 million ($860,000).
The piece, which features 33 graduated cushion-shaped and oval pigeon’s blood Burmese rubies weighing a total of 33.66 carats, as well as pear-shaped diamonds, will lead the March 27 Hong Kong Jewels auction, Phillips said recently. It will be among the 110 lots at the event, which includes a large assortment of gemstones and colored diamonds.
Phillips will preview highlights from the sale in Bangkok, Thailand, and Taipei, Taiwan.
“Reflecting the strong market demand for rare and important colored gemstones and diamonds, this sale is headlined by a stunning array of treasures, featuring the vibrant allure of sapphires, emeralds, and rubies, as well as the captivating brilliance of fancy-colored diamonds,” said Diana Chang, head of the sale for Phillips in Hong Kong.
