A 10-carat diamond ring was the top seller at a recent jewelry sale at Phillips in Hong Kong, bringing in HKD 4.6 million ($591,330).

The emerald-cut, D-color, internally flawless diamond ring sold within its presale estimate at the March 27 Hong Kong Jewels auction, Phillips said last week. In total, the event garnered HKD 50.1 million ($6.4 million), with 77% of lots finding buyers.

Participants from 33 countries took part in the sale, where 20% of the items presented surpassed their presale high estimates, according to Benoit Repellin, worldwide head of jewelry for Phillips, and Diana Chang, head of the sale. Total sales at the auction were up 55% year on year.

“This auction highlights the continued robust growth of our jewelry department in Hong Kong,” said Repellin and Chang. “The sale showcased the strong market demand for diamonds, sapphires, and emeralds, with these precious stones leading the top lots. Their exceptional performance underscores the enduring appeal and high value collectors place on these exquisite gems.”
