A fancy-yellow diamond ring was the top seller at a recent Heritage jewelry auction, fetching $162,500.
The piece, featuring a rectangular brilliant-cut, 10.03-carat, fancy-yellow diamond center stone bordered by 3.26 carats of triangular-shaped diamonds, fell within its estimates at the Holiday Fine Jewelry Signature Auction, the house said last week. The December 5 auction in Dallas, Texas, brought in a total of $5.3 million.
Several lots surpassed their estimates, including a Tiffany & Co. Art Deco Kashmir sapphire, diamond and platinum ring that realized three times its high price, selling for $150,000.
“I was delighted that we could end the year with such a wonderful mix of high-quality gems,” said Jill Burgum, executive director of fine jewelry. “I was also thrilled with the auction’s results, which reflect not only our dedication to meeting our consignors’ needs but also the confidence our bidders continue to place in us.”
