A Graff diamond necklace from the collection of beauty entrepreneur Sydell Miller will go under the hammer at Sotheby’s New York next month with a high estimate of $1.5 million.

The necklace consists of graduated pear-shaped diamonds and a pear-shaped, 18-carat, D-color, internally flawless, detachable central diamond drop. Nearly 100 pieces from the collection will be available across two auctions, Sotheby’s announced last week: the December 10 Magnificent Jewels sale in New York, and the Fine Jewels online sale from November 26 through December 12.

Miller’s collection ranges from colored diamonds and gemstones to vintage jewels from famed houses like Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Harry Winston. Dubbed the “queen of the beauty industry,” the cofounder of salon company Matrix Essentials “approached jewelry with a deep appreciation for its artistry, viewing it as an essential part of her self-expression,” the auction house said.

She also had a vast couture wardrobe and designer handbag collection, which will be part of a separate online auction from November 8 to 26.
