A yellow diamond weighing 21.27 carats will lead an upcoming jewelry sale at Doyle, where it is set to fetch up to $500,000.
The cut-cornered step-cut emerald-cut, fancy-intense-yellow, VS1-clarity diamond stone, set in a ring, is surrounded by four trapezoid- and baguette-shaped diamonds, according to Doyle. The piece will be among the 243 lots on offer at the December 12 Important Jewelry auction in New York.
The sale will showcase pieces from famed design houses such as Bulgari, Cartier, Verdura, David Webb, Harry Winston, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels. It will also include three private collections: those of philanthropist and socialite Carolyn Pesnell Amory, New York socialite and animal welfare supporter Joanne B. Breyer, and art connoisseur and jewelry collector Joanne duPont Foster.
