A ring featuring a 7.31-carat diamond is set to lead the Hindman jewelry auction taking place in Chicago next month, with other diamond- and gem-set pieces accounting for most of the 312 lots on offer.

The emerald cut, E-color, VS1-clarity diamond sits between two trillion-cut diamonds on the platinum ring, which carries an estimate of $120,000 to $180,000.

Here are the rest of the five highest-valued pieces in the September 12 Important Jewels auction:

This ring stars a fancy-brownish-pink diamond weighing 5.42 carats in yellow and rose gold. The emerald-cut, SI1 stone has a princess-cut diamond on either side and an estimate of $100,000 to $150,000.
This antique platinum necklace with natural pearls and approximately 25 carats of diamonds — including a cushion-cut, 3-carat, I, VS2 diamond — has an expected price of $80,000 to $120,000.
This Oscar Heyman ring features two cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut diamonds: an F, VS2 stone of 4.76 carats, and a 5.11-carat, fancy-deep-orange-yellow diamond. Its estimate is $80,000 to $120,000.
This gold and platinum pendant centers a cushion mixed-cut Ceylon (Sri Lankan) sapphire, four pear-shaped yellow sapphires, and 4.75 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds. Its expected price range is $80,000 to $120,000.
