JA New York, the triannual fair for the jewelry industry, has named industry veteran Matthew Tratner as group show director.
“This industry is fueled by relationships, and Matthew has meaningful connections that extend throughout all facets of the jewelry industry ecosystem,” said Gannon Brousseau, executive vice president of Emerald, JA New York’s parent company. “His enthusiasm, coupled with his knowledge and experience, will truly be an asset to our events and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”
Tratner was most recently senior vice president of business development and marketing for GCAL by Sarine. He is credited with helping broker the partnership between the Gem Certification & Assurance Lab and Sarine, which was announced earlier this year. Previously, he was global business development director with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). He also worked as director of membership and sales for Jewelers of America (JA), the former owner of the JA New York show.
“I look forward to leveraging my relationships, strengthening existing partnerships and working closely with the show’s dedicated team to ensure that JA New York is a relied-upon resource serving the nuanced needs of this incredible industry,” Tratner added.
Tratner will officially join the JA New York team a week before the JA New York fall show, which takes place October 29 to 31 at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.
