Executive Diamonds will hide Polaroid photos of gems and diamonds at participating businesses in Calgary, Canada, including restaurants and video arcades, the family-owned company explained in a social media post last week.
Participants are encouraged to follow clues the company will release daily on its social media, showing a location. Once someone finds a Polaroid, they can bring it back to the store, which will match it to the corresponding gem to see if it is a winner.
The search has generated quite a buzz, with many Calgarians eager to join the hunt and uncover the hidden jewel. The jeweler is also displaying an in-store wheel with the names of participating businesses, allowing customers to win a voucher from the business on which they land.
In total, the company has hidden 15 Polaroids. The contest began Friday and will run until February 14, or until the diamond is found — whichever comes first.
