A blue-diamond ring is one of several colored-diamond lots starring in the upcoming Sotheby’s Hong Kong sale, where it is set to bring in up to HKD 50 million ($6.4 million).
The ring — featuring a cut-cornered rectangular-cut, 9.01-carat, fancy-blue, VVS2-clarity diamond — is the lead item on the block at the December 17 Important Jewels auction, according to Sotheby’s. The sale consists of 133 lots, many by well-known designers including Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Cartier.
In addition to the diamonds, the auction will have colored-gemstone jewels and numerous jadeite pieces on offer.
